About Us

Horseahaulic World is devoted to the proper care and safety of horses, and to the enjoyment of safe and entertaining riding for the humans and horses involved. A well behaved horse starts with a well behaved owner/trainer/rider.

Knowledge,  practice and plain hard work make a good riding team of horse and human.  A horse picks up very quickly on his rider’s level of experience and confidence.  He will continue to test his ability to be your leader.  You must become, in his mind and in yours, his leader. This can be done without aggression or pain to either of you, if you know how.

The Don’t Ride Dirt blog is exactly what it says.  Riding a horse is good.  Riding the dirt under his feet is bad.   There are rules of engagement, behavior, training and management that will minimize the chances of you ending up on the ground,  at best unhappy,  and at worst,  in pieces. Everything we discuss is aimed at keeping your horse in the healthiest and happiest condition so that he wants to be with you and work for you.  You will learn to trust each other and work as a team.

This does not mean to lower your guard.  Any horse will take an opportunity to improve his social position in the herd, even if that herd is just the two of you.   Never stop training.  Do exercises at least weekly to gain and confirm his respect.  We will provide sources and resources to help you do that humanely. Care, Compassion and Consistency Every animal has a unique personality and disposition.  Because of this, every animal needs to be trained with his or her individual needs in mind. This requires a unique trainer, with a wide range of experience and a wealth of knowledge.  Whether you want to train a young animal, or an older animal, you need expert guidance to effectively and safely train your animal.  We think of the three C’s of horse training:  Care, Compassion and Consistency as the cornerstones of good training.  All of this needs to be wrapped in Knowledge, Patience and Humor. The horses can be temperamental, but the humans must show no sign of temper. A scared horse is a very dangerous horse. So there you have it, our philisophy.  We will present what we believe to be best practices and ideas, products and knowledge. Please enjoy our site, return often, and feel free to comment on the blog postings.
